Skillset & Acheivements
Skillset:
Vision: Implementation and Review
Proven track record of developing and implementing clear, achievable & successful strategic plans aligned with the mission and goals of the organisations I’ve worked for with a particular emphasis on implementing new processes efficiently and effectively.
Examples include a complete restructuring of Mite’s operations to transition from an organisation working in silos to an efficiently run wellbeing provider offering a consistent level of service across the LCR with clear, universally applied goals, reporting and monitoring processes.
Managing Stakeholder, Partnership & Investor Relationships
Demonstrated expertise in cultivating relationships with key stakeholders to further the organisation's reach and impact.
Over the course of my time with Mite, MANWELL and ACE I’ve worked closely at board level with stakeholders and partners at St Helens & Warrington Borough Councils, Liverpool John Lennon Airport , Social Services across the LCR as well as maintaining close and effective relationships with funders and social investment partners including Livv Investment.
Human Resources
Experience in day to day running of human resources in a third sector role, development of person specifications and detailed supervision & appraisal frameworks for a variety of roles.
At ACE I have oversight of all HR activities including the implementation of new employee handbooks and contracts, development of detailed job specifications and supervision and appraisal frameworks which allow us to closely monitor performance and ensure that staff are confident in their knowledge of what is expected of them and feel supported to perform to the highest standards.
I have personally led on investigation of staff grievances, disciplinary proceedings (including gross misconduct), capability assessments, probationary periods, absence management and redundancy
Strategic Decision Making
Ability to identify and analyse trends, opportunities and threats and make timely, decisive and informed decisions in the best interest of the organisation.
In February 2020, as the spread of Covid19 built momentum, ACE became the first support agency in the LCR to apply restrictions to in person support and, when the government formally announced lockdown, the first to have in place an online/digital support service for adults with additional needs. Over the course of lockdown we secured funding for a refit of our building, including AV technology and additional support spaces that enabled us to become the first support agency to reopen safely, offering a unique hybrid of on site, socially distanced support and online digital alternatives for those isolating or identified as too high risk to return immediately.
Achievements:
The ACE Place
I oversaw the purchase, redevelopment and reopening of an abandoned youth centre as a hub for community support for adults with additional needs including on site training facilities, plant nursery and community garden shop. The site has been designed to allow ACE to:
Bridge the gap between the local community and the adults we support
Provide an environment in which those we support can grow their independence through training, life skills sessions and work experience.
MANWELL CIO
Founding and development of a physical and mental health charity for men in the Liverpool City Region including an in-house portal for tracking physical and mental wellbeing, the day to day operations of a grassroots charitable enterprise and the building of a support network (online and in person) supporting over 500 men.
ACE Staff & Support Apps
Digitisation of ACE’s operations including the building of secure, compliant databases for staff onboarding, personnel records, supervision & appraisal as well as development of a secure & comprehensive in-house care planning app providing accurate and up to date information about those we support and their needs.
